The Jets are expected to add some defensive help by the start of business next week.

Per Manish Mehta, the Jets are expected to visit this weekend with safeties LaRon Landry and Reggie Nelson, and hope to sign one of them before the end of the weekend.  Both of them would be a good addition to a team that is in desperate need of safety help.  We’ve spoken about Reggie Nelson previously, and LaRon Landry, formerly of the Redskins, is an active safety as well, with 48 tackles last season, 35 of them solo.

Eric Smith had a rough year keeping up with the TEs of the league, and each one would be a huge upgrade.
