The Jets search for a backup QB is moving forward.

Sources are reporting today that Brady Quinn is scheduled to visit the Jets’ facilities tomorrow to possibly sign on as the backup quarterback.

OPINION

This is a curious choice as far as I am concerned.  If the Jets are looking to bring someone in that will motivate Mark Sanchez, I am not sure this is the right idea.  Brady Quinn has had a very subpar NFL career after arriving in Cleveland with high expectations out of Notre Dame.  Quinn hasn’t taken a snap in a game in his 2 seasons as a Bronco, and started 9 games for the Browns in 2009, throwing 8 TDs vs 7 INTs, and a 67.2 passer rating.

For my money, I would like to see the Jets, if Peyton Manning signs with the Titans, go after Matt Hasselback, who will almost certainly be released should the Titans land the coveted QB.
