Dolphins want Peyton Manning

By Marc A. Greenberg

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

The Miami Dolphins, losers in the Jeff Fisher chase, now have their sights on another:  Peyton Manning.

The Miami Herald, citing two sources with direct knowledge of the Dolphins’ plans, reports that Manning is the quarterback the Dolphins will pursue if he is released by the Indianapolis Colts.

Owed a $28 million roster bonus on March 8, Manning may get released by the Colts before that time which will make him an unrestricted free agent.  With the Number 1 pick in the NFL Draft, and believed to want Andrew Luck, the Colts are torn on which direction to take the organization.

The New York Jets have been rumored to want Manning as well, as are the Arizona Cardinals.
