Jets coach Callahan turns down extension with team

Could there be trouble in New York?
Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com reports that Jets offensive line coach Bill Callahan has turned down multiple contract extension offers from the team.
This could be an interesting offseason for Gang Green as offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer’s job is in jeopardy with Callahan the rumored replacement. With Callahan gone, who will the Jets turn to? Will this force the team to bring back Schotty for stability?
Head coach Rex Ryan, for one, was not happy with the playcalling last week against the Giants. The Jets dropped back to pass on 67 plays against the Giants. That’s the most for any NFL team in a regulation game since 2008.
“I don’t see us throwing the ball 60 times ever again,” Ryan said. “I don’t think any of us could believe we threw it that many times. I know I can’t.”
