Giants have significant injuries for Jets game

The Battle of New York already has some casualties.

The New York Giants will be without several key players on Saturday when they play the New York Jets.

Along with linebacker Mark Herzlich and defensive end Osi Umenyiora on defense, Big Blue will be without Tight End Jake Ballard and Wide Receiver Mario Manningham.

Knowing the Jets obvious problems covering the tight end position, the loss of Ballard is huge.  With Manningham also out, that means the Jets will man-up Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz with Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie and dare Giants Quarterback Eli Manning to beat them with someone else.

Could this be the week that running back Brandon Jacobs has been waiting for all season?
