Jets McKnight has separated shoulder

New York Jets kick returner Joe McKnight has a separated right shoulder and his status for Saturday’s game against the New York Giants is uncertain.

Head Coach Rex Ryan confirmed the injury Monday on his weekly radio appearance on 1050 ESPN Radio, adding that “we’ll see” if McKnight can play.

It is unknown at what point McKnight, leading the NFL in kickoff return average, was injured in the Jets’ 45-19 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Averaging 32.3 yards a return, best in the league, McKnight leads all kick returners in pro bowl voting.
