The Dallas Morning News reports that Hurd has been arrested in connection with an attempt to purchase drugs from a supplier in North Texas.

The criminal complaint accuses Hurd of conspiring to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

Hurd played for the Cowboys from 2006 to 2010.

The Bears told the Chicago Tribune they are aware of the report and are looking into it.

Playing mostly special teams for the Bears this season, Hurd has eight catches for 109 yards as a receiver.
