One week after “icing” his own kickerwith a late timeout call, Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett watched as the New York Giants did their own icing; a timeout following by a Jason Pierre-Paul blocked field goal attempt to defeat the Cowboys 37-34 in Dallas.

For now, the Giants are in first place in the NFC East and ready to face the New York Jets on December 24.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning brought the Giants back from a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit, (34-22 with 5:41 remaining) with Pierre-Paul blocking rookie Dan Bailey’s 47-yard field-goal attempt with one second remaining.

“I can’t remember a season like this where almost every game is right to the wire,’’ coach Tom Coughlin said. “I was happy because we needed to have a locker-room celebration. We have been starving for that.’’

“JPP for president,’’ Justin Tuck said.

With the Jets defeating Kansas City on Sunday, the December 24 matchup between New York teams could decide who goes to the playoffs and who stays home.
