BREAKING NEWS: Brian Schottenheimer Signed Through At Least 2012

New York Jets fans, it looks like your offensive coordinator isn’t going anywhere.

According to a source, writes Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, the Jets, who don’t like lame duck coaches, quietly gave Brian Schotteheimer a contract extension during this past off season.  The source says that Brian will be Jets offensive coordinator at least through 2012, and any decisions about his future will be regarding financial considerations.

Brian Schotteheimer has been the Jets offensive coordinator since his hire by Eric Mangini in 2006.  So far under the Brian’s direction, the Jets have ranked as low as 26th in total offense, and as high as 11th.  They have ranked from 25th, to as high as 9th in scoring.
