Plax is back; Jets Burress returns to team after time off

Thanks for coming back, Plax. Oh, by the way, there is a division game against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday that will probably determine whether the New York Jets make this playoffs this season. But no biggie….
Plaxico Burress, after a two day hiatus in which the Jets wide receiver went home to Virginia Beach and handed out turkeys to those less fortunate, returned to practice on Tuesday.
“I was not going to go back on my word,” head coach Rex Ryan said yesterday, on his promise to allow Burress the time off. “I’m going to do it my way. If there’s something that I feel OK with, then that’s what I’ll do.”
While Burress returned to the team yesterday, he was too late for practice. But he doesn’t think he needs to practice for Buffalo.
“We just played the Buffalo Bills a few weeks ago,” Burress said. “I don’t think they’ve changed too much over the past three or four weeks, from what I understand. I’ll just look at the film over the past three or four games, and look at our install, catch up on some film, and I’ll be fine.”
Asked if he’d be ready for Sunday, Burress said: “I’m always ready.”
