A good tight end in the NFL spells trouble for any defense. For the New York Jets, a good tight end is killer.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is just that.

With 113 yards on 8 catches and 2 Touchdowns, the 6’6, 265 lb “Gronk” showed why the Jets need help covering the tight end.  Safety Eric Smith has shown time and time again that he’s not the answer.

“He was outstanding,” Darrelle Revis. “Him and Tom [Brady]

, they were connecting every chance they got.”“They have a lot of weapons,” head coach Rex Ryan

said. “We tried to match them up in different zones, we tried to bracket them sometimes, but the young man did a nice job of catching the football.”“He’s a great player and we depend on him,” Brady said. “…. We have to keep on finding ways to get him the ball.”
