Rex Ryan tells San Diego media he’d have 2 rings by now

It seems that Rex Ryan really can’t control himself.
The New York Jets head coach, in speaking today to the San Diego media, said that had the Chargers hired him to be their coach in 2007, he would have led the Chargers to at least two super bowls wins by now.
“Well, I think I would have had a couple rings,” Ryan told San Diego reporters, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “I’m telling you, those teams were loaded.”
Insert foot in mouth, Rex.
Of course, Chargers head coach Norv Turner can’t be pleased with those comments, nor could the Chargers, the Jets opponent this weekend.
Immediately after those comments, Rex tried to put the toothpaste back into the tube by complimenting Turner.
“Obviously, Norv Turner has done a great job there and A.J. and everybody,” Ryan said. “That’s a great franchise. He was probably the best guy for the job at that time.”
