If you are looking for a bright spot to the New York Jets 34-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, look no further than LB Aaron Maybin.

Yes, that’s right, Aaron Maybin.

The former first-round pick of the Bills in 2009, that was signed by the Jets in August and waived Sept. 4, only to be brought back this week, recorded his first NFL sack on Ravens QB Joe Flacco, forcing a fumble the Jets recovered.

And the play showcased what the Jets saw in Maybin. His speed.

Think about this; it took Maybin one game as a Jet to overtake former Jet Vernon Gholston on career sacks.

“It’s kind of an empty feeling,” Maybin said. “This is a team game. Personal stats mean nothing. If we had won the game, I’d be celebrating as loud as anyone, but it doesn’t mean anything because we lost.”

Maybin had 2 1/2 sacks in the preseason, including 1 1/2 in the Jets’ preseason finale against Philadelphia.

“We kind of liked what we saw,” Jets head coach Rex Ryan said.
