In a word. Yes.

Getting the chance to coach Baltimore Ravens Safety Ed Reed for seven years in Baltimore, it’s no surprise that New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan thinks highly of him.  In fact, you probably can’t think any more highly than Ryan does of Reed.

“A first ballot Hall of Famer, in my opinion. The best safety that’s ever played,” Ryan said this week.

Ryan isn’t alone.  New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has called Reed the best free safety ever as well.

Drafted by the Ravens with the 24th pick in the 2002 NFL Draft, the member of the 2001 University of Miami National Championship team is a 7 time bowler and was the 2004 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
