Ravens Torrey Smith has Rex Ryan’s attention, but not respect

If you had never heard the name Torrey Smith prior to last week’s Baltimore Ravens vs. St. Louis Rams, you weren’t alone.
After the game, however, is another story.
Smith, the Ravens Rookie WR, caught his first three passes as a pro last week; in the first quarter; and they all went for TDs. Smith would finish the day with 5 catches, 152 yards and 3 TDs.
And now he has gained the attention of New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan. But it’s not the attention you would think a WR would attract after a 3 TD game.
“He’s a fast guy and all that kind of stuff, but I don’t think he’ll have equal success this week,” Ryan said according to Ryan Mink of BaltimoreRavens.com. “If he does, then I’ll just stay in Baltimore.”
Ouch.
But Rexy wasn’t done.
“We’ve played against speed receivers in the past and we’ll have an idea on how to play him,” he said. ”If we want to shut him down, we can always just put [Darrelle] Revis on him.”
Same old Rex?
Jets fans hope it won’t be Same old Jets come Sunday Night.
