Panthers Cam Newton to Steve Smith looking like gold

We’ve only seen one half of the NFL season for the Carolina Panthers, but it already looks like Cam Newton was made to play this game.

With a 14-7 lead over the Arizona Cardinals, Newton is 9-13 for 198 yards and 2 TD passes.

The 2 TDs went to Steve Smith who has 4 catches for 126 yards, including a 77 yard TD pass and a 26 yard TD pass from Newton.

UPDATE:  In the 28-21 loss, Cam Newton set a rookie passing record with 422 passing yards, beating Peyton Manning’s previous record.  Newton finished the game 24-37, 422 yards, 2 passing TDs and a nice TD run.
