Jets Greg McElroy Had Thumb Surgery; Out Several Weeks

The Jets may be in need of another QB.

Although initially reported as a dislocation, Manish Mehta of the Daily News has reported today that backup QB Greg McElroy had thumb surgery today, and is slated to be out for “several weeks”.  Drew Willy is headed to the practice squad, so the Jets, depending upon what several weeks amounts to may be in need of a 3rd string quarterback.
