Hurricane Irene not to affect Jets game this weekend

Come on Irene !!

With a Hurricane coming right at the tri-state area this weekend, football diehards are wondering what will be of the New York Jets preseason game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands on Saturday Night.

They need not worry.

As of now, it doesn’t look like Irene will hit before midnight at the earliest on Saturday, with rain and high winds continuing into Sunday night.

While officials are closely monitoring the storm, there is a possibility that the 7 p.m. ET game time could be moved up as a precaution.  The NFL ultimately has the decision as to changing the game time.
