New York Jets looking to trade Jerricho Cotchery

After the New York Jets signed WR Plaxico Burress, it seemed the team would be happy with Santonio Holmes, Burress and Jerricho Cotchery as its Top 3 receivers.

That apparently is not the case. Nervous about his recent back surgery, the Jets are shopping Cotchery, per NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi.

When healthy, Cotchery is a smooth hands WR who can always be counted on to make that third down catch.   A loss for the Jets if he’s injured or traded, although the team appears to be high on 5th round pick Jeremy Kerley out of TCU who could be that slot WR to replace Cotchery.

Kerley can be the teams punt returner (something Cotchery did) as well.
