New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis has been ranked 8th on the Top 100 Players list of 2011 (as voted by NFL players) on NFL Network.

Along with the honor of being in the Top 10 is the privilege of having your coach give you the award.  Here are a few highlights from Rex Ryan who presented Revis on the show Sunday night, as first posted by Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News.

“First thing they want to know – every receiver—who’s Revis going to be matchup on? If he’s matched up on you, you might as well not even show up. Quite honestly, he’ll knock you on your butt.”

“There’s not a better zone (corner). There’s not a better man (corner). You name the defense, he’s the best at it.”

“One day, we’re going to say this is the best Jet in the history of New York Jets franchise. I also believe we’re going to see him in Canton on day.”

“He’s a gentleman off the field. But he is  a mean rascal on the field.”

“My prediction came true about that. Now there’s some predictions that haven’t come true… yet. But when it came to Darrelle, I said he would be the best corner in football…clearly, without exception, he is the best corner.”

“Without question, he tilts the field. When he’s on the field, he’s the best player on the field.”
