T.O. tears ACL in offseason

Scratch one free agent WR off the New York Jets list.
Chris Mortensen of ESPN is reporting that WR Terrell Owens has undergone surgery to repair a torn ACL he suffered during the offseason.
Owens previously had surgery in December after suffering a knee injury. Allegedly, he tore his ACL after the 2010 season when filming a TV show for VH1.
The surgery, performed by Dr. James Andrews, occurred within the past month. With the typical 6 month recovery period, Owens’ status for this season and beyond is unknown. Owens himself has not even acknowledged the surgery.
Fifth on the all-time receptions list, second in receiving yards, and tied for second with Randy Moss in receiving touchdowns, T.O. would have been an interesting option for the Jets this season with the team all but certain to not re-sign Braylon Edwards.
