Braylon Edwards Should Not Be Allowed to Drive

I think it is time Braylon Edwards stops getting behind the wheel of a car because nothing good seems to happen when he does.  How his license has not been taken away yet is amazing to me.  I understand he was not drinking in his most recent accident in Detroit, but it seems to me he is just not a good driver.  Additionally, the accident occurred at 3:40 in the morning and we all know nothing good can happen at 3:40 in the morning.  Luckily for Edwards, he was not injured, nor was the passenger in his car or anyone else on the road. 

You would think after getting a DWI last September, Edwards would hire a driver or call a cab.  I never understand why these million dollar athletes do not have drivers.  They can certainly afford it and would be doing society a favor.  I know if I had his money there would be no chance of me driving a car when I go out.  Why would you want to take any risks?

Even if you are sober, at 3:40 in the morning, you should not be driving a car after being out all night.  The fact of the matter is you are tired and not alert enough to be driving .  There was no way he was alert at that time and his poor decision making put himself and others in danger.

Decisions like this by Edwards only make me question whether the Jets should attempt to resign him.  Why is it that he is always involved in something?  The guy clearly makes poor decisions and giving him a big contract might not be the best decision by the Jets.  This latest incident by Edwards proves why the Jets should just let him go.  They could find another receiver who is just as good as Edwards and a lot less of a headache.
