NFL to punish teams for dirty hits
By Marc A. Greenberg

Multiple flagrant hits will now hurt more than opposing players.
On Tuesday, NFL vice president Adolpho Birch said that beginning next season, the NFL will punish teams if their players commit multiple flagrant hits that result in fines.
While not ruling out losing draft choices, Birch said the disclipline would be financial.
Citing “club accountability,” Birch said the details were still being determined and that if a team’s total fines increase “to a certain threshold, we will enforce some … payback to encourage clubs to stay below that threshold.”
Whatever you call it, nothing positive will come out of it if teams are losing draft picks because players are called for flagrant hits. Financial penalties, fine., but leave it at that.
