While it’s not certain that Moss will be a Jet this season, his current team has officially cut ties with the WR.

Tennessee Titans G.M. Mike Reinfeldt, in a conference call with season-ticket holders, said Friday that the Titans are not bringing Moss back.

“I honestly don’t think we’ll try to re-sign him,”  Reinfeldt told callers. “We’ve got some young guys we like and I think at this point in his career he will probably go elsewhere.”

Acquired via waivers after being released by the Vikings, via a trade with the Patriots, Moss never clocked in Tennessee.   He appeared in eight games and caught 5 passes for 54 yards.

Moss played the first seven years of his career in Minnesota before being traded to Oakland in 2005.  He was traded to New England to 2007.

Moss holds the NFL single season touchdown reception record (23, set in 2007), and the NFL single-season touchdown reception record for a rookie (17, in 1998).

Vic Carucci of NFL.com has previosly reported that Jets coach Rex Ryan is intrigued by Moss and would like to keep him away from New England.
