Jets draft choice will be talent over need
By Marc A. Greenberg

Providing a glimpse into the New York Jets strategy for next weeks NFL Draft, Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum explained the teams gameplan for the 30th pick in the first round. Talent over Needs.
Although the Jets need some help on the defensive line, Tannenbaum admitted only that they are targeting 8-10 players in the first round and “we’ll take the 30th best player … whoever that is.”
He did leave open the possibility of a trade; “We’ll listen to any opportunity to go up or back,” he said. “We’re not going to rule anything out. If those scenarios do play out, we’ll see what happens when the phone rings on Thursday night.”
The Jets have six picks this season, a nice change after just seven selections the past two years under Rex Ryan.
