Jets defeat Colts 17-16

By Marc A. Greenberg

They did it. They finally did it.

In defeating the Indianapolis Colts 17-16, on a last second Nick Folk FG, the New York Jets overcame the Peyton Manning curse and are on their way to New England for a matchup with the Patriots next Sunday at 4:30.

A great second half performance by the Jets, with the running game leading the way.  Overall, the Jets outrushed the Colts 169-93, with the Jets rushing for 64 yards in the third quarter with both LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene wearing down the Colts’ defense.

After an inexplicable 3rd and 5 play call that almost killed the game, and after another Adam Vinatieri go ahead FG, the Jets marched down the field, with the help of another solid Antonio Cromartie kick return to win it.

Great catches by Braylon Edwards; great play by Mark Sanchez late; great win.
