Jets should rest everyone next week

With the New York Jets entry into the 2010 NFL Playoffs with a week left in the regular season, it would be wise for Coach Rex Ryan to treat next week’s regular season finale against the Buffalo Bills as a First Round Playoff BYE week for his starters.

Let’s begin with QB Mark Sanchez.  With a sore shoulder, that Sanchez himself acknowledged as such, there should be a 0% chance that the San-Chise plays next Sunday.

“This might be a way to get some guys that are banged up a little rest,” Ryan said following the game. “We’ll really look at Mark Sanchez, on possibly not playing him this week.”

When asked if Sanchez would argue the decision, Ryan said “Yes, but that’s OK.”

Let’s move on to LaDainian Tomlinson who is clearly not the same player as from the first half of the season. Let Rookie Joe McKnight be the starting RB next week.  Let Joe McKnight run the ball 50 times next week.

As for the Jets defense, they do need all the help they can get right now, but let’s rest Jason Taylor along with the other old-timers. Bart Scott has been invisible this second half of the season and needs a breather.
