The New York Jets have another foot issue to worry about.

WR Santonio Holmes sat out practice wednesday with a turf-toe injury he suffered in Sunday’s game in Pittsburgh. The Jets are optimistic that Holmes will be available to play against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

“During the game, I guess he had a toe injury and I never thought it was that bad,” Ryan said. “I never knew that we would have to hold him out [of practice], but it was bad enough to hold him out [yesterday]. I expect him to play, but he was not comfortable.”

Ryan said he “thinks” Holmes (47 catches, 4 TDs) will be able to practice today and/or tomorrow.

“I don’t think he’s out by any stretch of the imagination,” Ryan said.
