Stating what everyone was expecting to hear,  Jets coach Rex Ryan confirmed to the media that the Jets game plan is to kick the ball away from Chicago Bears return man Devin Hester this Sunday.

“I don’t think you can deal with him,” Ryan said. “As a returner, it’s ridiculous. He’s got to go down as the best punt returner in the history of the game. I think it’s pretty safe to say we’re planning on not kicking to him,” Ryan said, per Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. “I think you can write that down as everybody else I’m sure doesn’t want to kick to him.

This past week, Vikings punter Chris Kluwe tried to do that himself as well. The kick, however, stayed along the sideline and Hester returned it for a TD.

The TD was Hester’s 14 kick/punt return for a TD, breaking the record for most in NFL history, previously held by Hester and Brian Mitchell (13).
