Metrodome roof collapses

By Marc A. Greenberg

Well now it is just getting ridiculous for the New York Giants.

The roof of the Metrodome in Minneapolis deflated early Sunday morning, leaving the game between the Minnesota Vikings and Giants, already postponed to Monday night, in serious jeopardy.

Metrodome officials have stated that tears in the roof make it unlikely that a game can be played Monday.

The University of Minnesota is nearby with an outdoor field, although it would have to be cleared of 17 inches of snow.  It’s likely the Giants do not have outdoor gear for this situation.

Whatever the outcome (unless the game gets moved to the Meadowlands), this is a terrible situation for the Giants who are fighting for first place.
