Patriots defense very un-Belichick

Think back to the last 10 years and ask yourself at what point the New England Patriots had a bad defense?

Not a decent defense, not an OK defense;  a bad defense.

This season the 2010 Patriots are ranked 31st in Total Defense.  Only the Washington Redskins are ranked worse than New England.  Consider this: The Patriots have given up 18 or more points a game in EVERY game this season, with the exception of Week 4 against Miami (41-14 Victory).

Very Un-Belichick.

Giving up 399.1 yards a game, and ranked dead last in pass defense, the Patriots can only look to its run defense (16th in the NFL) as its bright spot.

Of course, there’s a reason this team is 9-2 and tied with the Jets for the AFC’s best record.  QB Tom Brady and the Pats offense leads the NFL in scoring at 30.4 points a game.

For the Jets offense this Monday Night, the Patriots are a team fresh for the taking. The only thing standing in their way is themselves.
