Cablevision dispute still going with Fox

Still going…

Day four of the Cablevision-News Corp. standoff ended with no new progress on a deal, though both sides did receive a scolding from the head of the Federal Communications Commission.

FCC chair Julius Genachowski released a statement chastising them for allowing their dispute over carriage fees to draw out for so long. He also called the CEOs of each company, urging them to reach a deal.

News Corp. yanked its Fox stations, as well as three cable networks, from Cablevision on Saturday after the old deal expired.

While 3 million subscribers have missed Fox’s coverage of the National League Championship Series and last Sunday’s New York Giants game, this could get real ugly if the Yankees stage a comeback and get to the world series before a deal is reached.
