Tomlinson named AFC Player of Week

By Marc A. Greenberg

LaDainian Tomlinson was named the top offensive player of the week for the AFC.

Tomlinson gained 133 yards, including two touchdowns, on 19 carries against the Buffalo Bills. It was his 25th career game with at least 100 yards rushing and two rushing TD’s, tying him with Jim Brown as the all-time NFL leader in that combination.

Tomlinson, who last won the weekly award at the end of the 2006 season, is the first Jets runner to do it since Curtis Martin in 2004.
