Jets run all over Buffalo

Barring a little drama with Nick Folk and an end of the half scoring drive by the Bills, this game was over after the Bills won the coin toss and elected to kick off.

In a rainy first drive, the Jets finally provided some sunshine to their fans with a run-filled, explosive TD drive, capped off with an LT TD.

The Jets, in defeating the Buffalo Bills 38-14 in Buffalo yesterday, did what good teams need to do: They established their dominance early, pressured the QB all day, and never let the crowd get into the game. 273 yards on the ground can’t hurt either.

Let’s Recap:

– LT. What can you say about LaDainian Tomlinson this season? The guy has not only become the Jets primary RB, but one of the best RBs in the NFL. After 133 yards and 2 TDs, LT is averaging 6.1 yards per carry this season (341 yards).

– Mark Sanchez is really getting really confident out there. Another mistake free game (8 TDs, no INTs over last 4 games). A gorgeous TD pass to Edwards being his highlight of the game. Speaking of which:

– Braylon Edwards has been sucking in balls this season like a dry-vac. A solid Number 1 WR, he looks determined to have a great season. We saw another ‘lob’ pass intended for Edwards called for a pass interference penalty.

– Even though Shonn Greene finally broke out with his first 100 yd game of the season (117 yards), he still looks like he is running without confidence. Yes, there was power in his runs; there was just something missing, though.

– Jason Taylor. Ho-Hum, another game, another turnover. This time, Taylor recovered a Marshawn Lynch fumble. Taylor is that guy who is always around the ball. Something the Jets have been lacking in recent years.

– Shaun Ellis went down in the third quarter with a knee injury. (sprained patella knee ligament). He will be evaluated today, so stay tuned.

– Nick Folk missed a 33 yarder in the first quarter. All Jets fans wondered where Jay Feely was at that moment. (3-4 on FGs, with a long of 53 yards).

– Was that Joe McKnight out there in garbage time? With 4 carries for 12 yards, at least McKnight didn’t cough up the ball.

– The Bills were 0-10 on third downs. A major concern for the Jets this season was contained this week.
