The New York Jets have interrupted the Ravens’ plans to re-sign defensive end Trevor Pryce, who was waived by Baltimore on Wednesday. The 35 year old from Brooklyn, NY, has 90 career sacks.

The New York Jets have swooped in and agreed to a contract with Ravens DE Trevor Pryce. The Jets’ Rex Ryan coached Pryce when he was an assistant in Baltimore.

Baltimore is on the hook to pay him his $2 million in guaranteed salary, plus whatever the Jets have paid him on his new one-year deal.

While Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that there was a “high possibility” that Pryce would return, the Jets apparently disagree.

Pryce was waived to make room for safety Ken Hamlin, who was released by Baltimore last week.
