Mangold near record deal

Throw out the deal the St. Louis Rams gave C Jason Brown last year.  The Jets and Nick Mangold are reportedly worth an even bigger deal.

Fanhouse.com is reporting that the Jets and Mangold are near a 7 year, $55 million deal with over $20 million in guarantees.

With David Harris apparently resigned to the fact that a deal with him won’t occur until after the season, that leaves Darrelle Revis as the only remaining issue with the Jets ‘Core Four’

Never one to hold out and hurt the team, Mangold never felt right holding out and has been a team leader from day 1.

Apparently the Jets agree.
