Look out Mark Sanchez, you may have company soon.
The New York Post is reporting that the Jets have made a call to former Raiders Quaterback JaMarcus Russell regarding the backup QB position.
GM Mike Tannenbaum says it is all about investigating every player out there, so there may not be anything to this story; but only having Kellen Clemens and Erik Ainge backing up Sanchez, you never know.
The Jets are known to be interested in QB Mark Brunell as their backup, but Brunell, due to cap reasons, cannot sign a deal with Gang Green for another month. Given the outrageous 1 year, $3.8 million contract given by the Ravens to QB Mark Bulger, though, you never know what Brunell will be asking for.
