Jones’in to be the Best

With 109 rushing yards last night against the Bills, Thomas Jones eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark for the fifth consecutive year, and third in a row with the Jets.
With the Jets in his three seasons, beginning at age 29, Jones has 3,499 yards with 23 TDs. (44 games at an AVG of 80 ypg).
For his career, Jones now has 8,883 rushing yards with 57 TDs.
But the numbers alone don’t begin to show what Jones has meant to the Jets. He has been a solid runner who always holds on to the ball.
Can the comparisons begin?
Curtis Martin joined the Jets at age 25 and played for 8 seasons, amassing 10,302 yards with 52 TDs. (123 games at an AVG of 84 ypg).
While nobody can argue Martin’s greatness on the field, and cool, pleasant demeanor off the field, Jones has become the rock of the Jets this season. Like Mitchell to Cam, good old Mr. Reliable.
