After you’ve spent time with your families getting fat on Turkey, stuffing, the whole nine yards; if you are planning to make your way down to MetLife Stadium to watch the epic-ness that is this kick off to week 12 matchup in the division, then this is what you’ll need to know:

According to www.weather.gov, they say that the weather will be mostly clear with a low of 39 degrees.

Now who does this favor? The conditions make things equal BUT in a lot of ways, this situation really could favor the home team. For the fact that you do get to stay home and you’re not worried about all the stress of the traveling. Even former Patriot and current NBC Rodney Harrison even thought so (but he does have a tendency to be pro Patriot in his analysis so take it for what it’s worth)

There is a bit of history on the Jets side regarding winning a game like this. The last time that the Jets got to play on Thanksgiving, they did win against the Bengals. Then this season, on Thursday night, the schedule has favored the home team.

The thing for the Jets though is that they have to build off Sunday’s win over the Rams. This is a step up in quality of team for Gang Green but if they can build on this game (especially offensiively) and keep up the defenisve intensity, they have has good a shot as ever to knock off tthe Pats. Then with the win, the Jets season and a chance at that post-season will get stronger.

Week 7 is upon us and this week needs no hyperbole. It’s Patriots week.

So if you’re going to venture into enemy territory this Sunday, according to weather.com; it will be sunny and 60 degrees. There will be a westerly wind of 14 miles per hour.

Who does the weather favor? The conditions make it equal BUT, the Jets are going to Massachusetts and playing New England in their building. The home team is who this really favors.

How can the Jets have even a remote shot against the Patriots?

Offensively, part of the plan needs has to have more of the guy to the left. Dustin Keller has had some really good games against the Pats in his career so he has to have a big game and be that constant for Gang Green.

Defensively, not sound really obvious here but there’s two keys… stop the Pats all-world tight ends and stop the run.

You bring in Yeremiah Bell and LaRon Landry for this reason: to keep their tight ends from burning you. So these two need to get to the line and smash Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez in the mouth right at the line. Then the defensive line needs to stop the run. This is a more balanced Patriots team then in years passed.

The Jets need to channel their inner 2010 team if they want to have a shot at beating them (think divisional round of the playoffs.

We are just a few hours away from Curtis Martin’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Here is a list of some of his best moments with the New York Jets, in no particular order:

After two mediocre performances to begin his first season with the Jets (1998), Curtis rushed for 144 yards in week three against the Indianapolis Colts, his first of four straight 100 yard performances.

Against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the divisional round of the playoffs, Curtis ran the ball 36 times for 124 yards and 2 TDs, helping to lead the Jets to their first playoff win since 1986.

Curtis took a 60 yard run to the house in 1998 against the Carolina Panthers. I just liked that one, so I included it.

In week 10 of the 1999 season, Curtis led the Jets to a win up in Foxboro, 24-17, after rushing 31 times for 149 yards and a 36 yard TD. Any time we beat that team it’s a great moment.

In week 15 of 2003, Curtis had a huge game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, rushing the ball 30 times for 174 yards, helping the Jets to a 6-0 win.

In the final game of 2004, Martin cemented his spot in NFL history, becoming the oldest running back to win the rushing title, rushing the rock 28 times for 153 yards, to finish the year with 1,697 yards. He won the title by a mere one yard over Shaun Alexander.
