The New York Jets have officially selected safety Jamal Adams out of LSU with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Fans have hit Twitter with their initial reactions.

If you’re not on Twitter yet, it’s truly one of the best social media networks out there for sports fans all across the world. From great content to reactions all throughout the 2017 NFL Draft, it’s a great network to really chime your thoughts and interact with others. Fans of the New York Jets have already started to give their reactions on what happened in the first round of this year’s draft.

In case you missed it, the Jets have selected safety Jamal Adams out of LSU to address one of their major needs on the team in their defensive secondary. He’s an absolute stud on defense that is already an upgrade over safety Calvin Pryor. It’s a great sight to see that they used a top-ten pick to land a player that should easily be a defensive cornerstone for years to come.

General manager Mike Maccagnan made a smart choice with the No. 6 overall pick since unlike cornerback Marshon Lattimore, Adams is relatively healthy and easily a Week 1 starter. Now the Jets can focus on continuing to add more youth and talent to other areas of the team.

We here at The Jet Press took the liberty to ask fans of the Jets their initial thoughts on the newest member of the franchise. Needless to say, the majority believe it is indeed a great pick. Check out the poll below:
