Enjoy your afternoon coffee with the latest news on the New York Jets. FanSided’s latest mock draft has Gang Green selecting a new quarterback.

It’s Friday afternoon and the weekend is finally here! It’s exactly less than two weeks before the 2017 NFL Draft as you’ll undoubtedly see a ton of draft talk and of course, mock drafts hit the internet. Below you’ll find the latest draft news and a plethora of mock drafts on the New York Jets. Enjoy everyone and have a great weekend!

In an article written by John Buhler of FanSided, his latest mock draft has the Jets selected a new quarterback in Mitchell Trubisky with their No. 6 overall pick. For a team in dire need of a franchise quarterback, it makes sense for them to keep drafting more options to eventually find the right one. While to me it makes more sense to take the best available defensive back, the Jets will draft a quarterback regardless in this year’s draft. At what round will, of course, remain to be seen until the draft is official here.

In an article written by Eric Lambert of NFL Mocks, his mock draft has the Jets taking cornerback Marshon Lattimore with their first round pick. This is the exact same pick I believe they’ll make as well since it helps address such a huge need on their defense. In the grand scheme of things, the Jets defensive secondary got torched last season and having an impact player like Lattimore would bring youth, talent, and aggression back to a struggling unit.

In an article written by Alan Schechter of NFL Spin Zone, he broke down the last five No. 6 overall picks of the draft. Not every player tends to work out at such a high draft pick but hopefully, the Jets have done all the required homework to make the best decision possible that will produce immediate and long-term results right off the bat.

Finally, in an article written by John B. of Gang Green Nation, his mock draft has the Jets taking offensive lineman Pat Elflein out of Ohio State. Since the Jets have cut center Nick Mangold this offseason, it makes sense to use their second-round pick on a center that has a major upside for the future. Elflein is versatile in that he can effective play center or guard which would be a great addition to a struggling offense line. The Jets can’t go wrong taking Elflein in the second round of this year’s draft now that they have a void to fill.
