Heading into Week 14 Fantasy Football, running back Bilal Powell isn’t worth trusting in the grand scheme of things to start.

Yes, fantasy football owners, the New York Jets are that bad. Not only can’t they win football games, but their offense is a complete disaster. They can’t score touchdowns in red-zone situations and turn the football over to the opposition due to a lack of execution.

When it comes to running back Bilal Powell, it’s best to sit him this week. The Jets hit the road to face the San Francisco 49ers and even though many see Gang Green leaving victorious, it might not be the case. They’re so bad that the 49ers actually have a shot at ending their epic losing streak by beating the Jets.

Since the Jets made a quarterback switch from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Bryce Petty, it’s all about auditioning for the future. Due to this, expect to see offensive coordinator Chan Gailey stick to a more pass-oriented attack to see what Petty can do.

The Jets are mathematically eliminated from making the NFL Playoffs so they will more than likely give their younger players more reps. Since Petty is being groomed for the future, the Jets wants to see what he can do in all aspects of a football game.

Committing to a ground game won’t do that and both Matt Forte and Powell have severely underperformed this season. Not really due to their respective skill-sets but mostly due to the unfortunate situation they’re in with the Jets.

It’s best to sit Powell this week since if you’re reading this, chances are you’re in the playoffs in your fantasy football league. Don’t risk losing by starting Powell who will do much of nothing this week just like he’s been doing the past few weeks with the Jets.
