For the upcoming Seahawks vs Vikings NFL Playoff game, the staff writing team of The Jet Press weighed in their thoughts.

Even though the NY Jets are out of the NFL Playoffs, we here at The Jet Press are just as excited as many football fans are for the postseason. With teams earning their spots to those that squeaked in, this postseason promises to be one to remember.

In what many are describing to be the coldest game of the Wild Card weekend, the Seahawks head to Minnesota to face the Vikings. This promises to be quite the match-up even though it’s been confirmed that Marshawn Lynch is officially out for this game. The Seahawks will have to do without one of their potent members on offense as the Vikings will definitely take advantage of his absence.

Here are some predictions by the staff writing team of The Jet Press for what should be an exciting game between the Seahawks and Vikings.

Next: Vikings win in glorious fashion

Something about playing football in extremely cold situations excite me as a football fan. It’s the kind of conditions that separates the pretenders from the contenders as I fully expect the Vikings to play some tough football against the Seahawks.

With how well quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been playing to everything that Adrian Peterson brings to the table, I see the Vikings beating the Seahawks in glorious fashion. Something tells me the Vikings will be one of the better teams playing in the postseason than many give them credit for.

I predict the Vikings surprise many and beat the Seahawks 35-17.

Next: Seahawks will be too much to handle

The Seahawks versus Vikings match-up is going to be a very good game but the Seahawks are going to be too much. The way they are playing right now makes them a team you don’t want to play right now.

The Vikings are going to struggle to get anything established like how they did early in the year. The Seahawks will move onto the next round to face the Panthers.

Next: Wilson will have a huge game

Wilson will have a huge game Danielle McCartan: Twitter

The last time these teams met, the Seahawks handed the Vikings a resounding 38-7 loss.  The Seahawks’ defense, lead by Richard Sherman, absolutely shut down the Vikings’ offense and limited them to 125 total yards, 9 first downs and a 20% third down conversion percentage.

The only spark for the Vikings came via special teams when Cordarrelle Patterson returned a kickoff 101 yards; the game was theoretically over at this point: the score was 35-0.  Expect Russell Wilson to have another day, topping last time’s three touchdown performance easily.

Next: Seahawks will easily win

Seahawks will easily win Christopher Stephano: Twitter Seahawks-Vikings is the premier game of Wild Card weekend. Both teams feature talented defenses and balanced offensive attacks, but the playoff experience and recent hot streak (won 6 of their last 7) of the Seahawks will make the difference here.

Seahawks win, 35-24

Next: Seahawks will shine

Seahawks will shine Todd Gerstenhaber: Twitter For the first time since 2009, a team besides the Green Bay Packers walked off the field with the NFC North Champions gear. However, for the Vikings to beat the Seattle Seahawks after experience a 38-7 drubbing on their turf, they better hope that Minnesota weather shows up to make the Seahawks’ offense one-dimensional.

After losing to the Rams on their home turf, the Seahawks appeared to be a team that would sleepwalk into the playoffs. There is no telling how far they can go since they’ve been here before and it doesn’t look like opponents will have any kind of answers against them.

This has been a nice season to build on for the Vikings, but I think the sleeping giant that is the Seahawks woke up last week in Arizona. They are ready for the playoffs and the Vikings are going to be their first victim.

Score: Seahawks 31, Vikings 13

Next: Vikings will win at home

Vikings will win at home Paul Esden Jr.: Twitter – Facebook

We get another delectable rematch and unlike the first match-up between the Vikings and the Seahawks, I see this one going a completely different direction. Again, perhaps I’m going a bit against the norm with these picks, but I’m just trusting my gut I think that if Peterson can get it going on the ground then Teddy Bridgewater can take advantage in the passing game.

I like the Vikings at home.

Next: Seahawks will easily advance

These two teams met in Week 13 and the Seahawks won in blowout fashion, 38-7. Peterson was limited to 18 yards on a mere eight carries while the Vikings’ only points came from a Cordarrelle Patterson 101-yard kick return.

Wilson went on an absolute tear completing 21 of 27 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns to essentially begin this great stretch he’s currently in. Since the game will be played in freezing temperatures, the Vikings will be able to stay in it and avoid getting blown out. However, Seattle should have no issue staying in control from start to finish.

Marshawn Lynch is out but Wilson is simply on a roll at the moment. Unless Peterson produces like he did in 2012, the Seahawks will advance to the divisional round for the fourth-straight season.

Seahawks win 27-14

Next: Five reasons to go with the Vikings

Five reasons to go with the Vikings Matthew Ordazzo: Twitter

I’m going with the Vikings during this defensive match-up. You have the NFL’s most dominant defense against the run versus the leagues top rusher in Adrian Peterson. Five reasons to go with the Vikings in this one:

1. The playoff game will be hosted in Minnesota

2. Peterson recorded 1,485 rushing yards with 4.5 yards per carry and led the Vikings and their fourth best rushing offense to their first division title in five-years

3. Stefon Diggs. Diggs has had a impressive rookie season with the Vikings recording 52 receptions for 720 yards and four scores

4. Kyle Rudolph is finally healthy. The veteran tight end had a full season under his belt in 2015 and was the teams second top receiver with 49 receptions for 495 yards and five touchdowns

5. Teddy Bridgewater has greatly improved since his rookie season as well.

The disappointing 10-6 Seahawks will fall to the red hot Vikings this weekend.

Next: Rooting for the home team

Rooting for the home team Mike Nash: Twitter

In a game that will be played in frigid temperatures, I’ll take the home team in the Vikings. I think Adrian Peterson will have a huge game with the Vikings’ defense able to slow down the always tough Russell Wilson.

Next: AP will be too much to handle

AP will be too much to handle Paul Harris: Twitter

We all know how well the Seahawks have played in playoffs recently, but with the red hot Vikings coming off a huge victory beating the Packers for the first time in 3 years, the Vikings might have the momentum to pull this one off and send the Seahawks home early.

My prediction is Vikings win 26-24 simply because this game is being played in Minnesota and I believe Adrian Peterson might be too much for the Seahawks defense this go around.

Next: AP playing at home is dangerous

AP playing at home is dangerous Jonathan Maldonado: Twitter

This will be the most fun game of the 2016 NFL Wild Card Weekend. The Seahawks are on a quest for a third straight Super Bowl appearance and Russell Wilson looks every bit the guy to get them there.

Teddy Bridgewater is looking to establish himself as name in the playoffs and last but not least Adrian Peterson looks to add to his already incredible legacy as a running back. If this were in Seattle, I’d give it to the Seahawks outright but I think Adrian Peterson, at home, proves too much to handle.

Next: Legion of Boom will deliver

A Week 13 rematch in which the Seahawks routed the Vikings 38-7 to help keep their playoff hopes alive. Seattle’s defense will be a tough task for Teddy Bridgewater to handle in his first playoff start.

Seahawks, 27-14.

Next: Seahawks are the total package

Seahawks are the total package Genna Preston: TwitterFacebook

There no doubt I am choosing the Seattle Seahawks to beat the Minnesota Vikings. I don’t believe a run game defense will win the wild card game. The Vikings primarily rely on running back Adrian Peterson. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater threw the fewest passes of all teams this season.

The Seahawks are ranked No. 3 offense, No. 1 defense, and No. 3 special teams. These rankings suggest they have the total package.

The Seahawks win this Wild Card game 24-17.
