On August 21st, 60 undeserved children will enjoy more than a football game when they attend the New York Jets vs. Atlanta Falcons game at MetLife Stadium.

Prior to the game, 60 children aged 7 to 10 will receive new bikes, helmets and two game tickets from the Foundation for Life, Inc., a charitable organization supported by the employees of Barnum Financial Group (BFG), an office of MetLife, and the New York Jets.

This is one of nearly a dozen bike giveaways Foundation for Life is orchestrating.  “I remember how excited I was to get my first bike”, says Paul Blanco, co-founder of the foundation and Managing Partner at Barnum Financial Group.  “Many of our employees have fond memories of their first bikes and are proud to give youngsters who might not have the opportunity to otherwise own a bike the same thrill.”

Since 2007, Foundation for Life has given away over 2,500 bikes and helmets to underprivileged children throughout Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Rhode Island.  “Barnum’s employees give a substantial amount of time, talent, and funds that support Bikes for Kids,” says Blanco, who founded the charitable organization with his wife Mindee who also works at Barnum.
