It’s Friday, and the third week of the NFL is here. It began last night, with the Falcons and the Bucs, and a full slate of games is upcoming this weekend. Last week was an unfortunate week for the picks, as we were swept, dropping our early record to 2-4. Hopefully we can get back on track with this week’s picks.

So, let’s get right to it.

Game one, Dallas heads to St. Louis to face the Rams. The Cowboys are 1.5 point favorites, and this one to me is an easy one. DeMarco Murray is off to a flying start, rushing for nearly 300 yards in the first two weeks, at a 5.6 yards per carry clip. Last week, he ran for 167 yards. The Rams, on the other hand, allowed 5.2 yards per carry on the ground last week against the hapless Bucs, and were only able to manage 19 points against them. This one is pretty straight forward. Take the Cowboys and the points.

Game two, the Redskins head to Philadelphia for a divisional matchup with the Eagles. The Eagles enter the game as 6.5 point favorites, leading the NFC East with a 2-0 record. The Redskins dominated the Jaguars by a score of 41-10, and enter the game with a 1-1 record. The Chip Kelly-led offense for the Eagles has been flying high, scoring 32 points per game early in the 2014 campaign.

But, the X-factor in this one is Kirk Cousins. Redskins’ coach Jay Gruden has hinted at the fact that he believes Kirk to be a better fit in his offense than RG III. Cousins showed some of that acumen last week, coming off the bench to replace the injured Griffin, and threw a touchdown pass coming off the bench cold. He went 22-33 for the game for 250 yards and two touchdowns. He was sharp, will be sharper with a full week of prep, and will, along with Alfred Morris, keep this one close. Take the Redskins plus the 6.5.

Game three is the Super Bowl rematch. The Denver Broncos are in Seattle to face the Seahawks. The Broncos are 4.5 point underdogs in the rematch. We all know the beat down that the Broncos suffered in the Super Bowl at the hands of the Seahawks. The Broncos are flying high at 2-0, averaging over 30 points per game. The Seahawks won big on opening night, and fell to the Chargers last week.

As much as I love Peyton Manning, I don’t like his team here. The Seahawks are so tough to beat at home, for anyone. Take the Seahawks and the points.

So there you have it, your picks for week 3 in the NFL. Here they are again:

Cowboys -1.5 Redskins +6.5 Seahawks -4.5

Good luck and enjoy the games.
