Here are the notes from today’s rainy workout at New York Jets’ camp:
STEPHEN HILL: I am beginning to think that Vernon Gholston has returned to Jets camp in the form of Stephen Hill. Stephen dropped multiple passes again today, for the same reason, not using his hands. He just doesn’t get it. Don’t expect Hill to be part of this team for very much longer.
GENO SMITH: Geno outplayed Michael Vick at camp today. He was very accurate, while Vick was affected by the wind and the rain.
JEREMY KERLEY: According to observers, Jeremy Kerley and Geno Smith had some quality chemistry going on, as they hooked up on two long crossing routes, and four long passes total, two during team drills, two during seven on sevens.
LEQUAN LEWIS IS SIGNED: Due to the situation at cornerback, the Jets have signed LeQuan Lewis. He has spent time in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts. He spent time as a backup with the Cowboys and the Bucs in 2012, with two passes defended and one interception.
ELLIS LANKSTER: Lankster had another good workout at Jets’ camp today. He knocked down two passes, nearly picking one of them off. Could this be the guy that steps up and fills the void that the injuries have caused?
