Could the New York Jets be Leaving Cortland, NY?

I guess the Jet Press is more powerful than we thought. I joke of course, but check this out.

Yesterday, the great Craig Hoffman wrote a piece begging the Jets to take training camp back to Long Island.  Then, we find this article from yesterday, courtesy of Newsday.  The Jets, according to sources, are looking to change things up, and come back downstate.

The Jets announced that they are going to shop around back in January.  Here is what General Manager John Idzik had to say at the time:

“SUNY Cortland’s been great to us,” general manager John Idzik said at the time. “They’re extremely hospitable and the campus is a terrific setting for our team to bond and prepare for the upcoming season. At this time, we simply wish to perform our due diligence to ensure we have the best possible environment for our camp.”

The one thing I don’t see is the team moving training camp home to Florham Park. Well, at least not while Rex Ryan is the head coach. It’s important to coach to get the team away from home so they can bond. If it’s not Cortland, it will be somewhere.
