New York Jets: Earning Their Wings, Mini Camp Edition

With mini camp in the rear view mirror, and official training camp at SUNY Cortland on the impending horizon, let’s take a minute to reflect on mini camp.

Remember during the season, we would give our wings, to the top performers on our team each week? Well, this afternoon, we are going to do that for mini camp, so let’s get right to it.

GENO SMITH: By all accounts, Geno Smith is a different guy. He performed like a guy that wasn’t learning the offense, he was DIRECTING the offense, which is a great sign for a second year quarterback, looking to make his mark. Guys are seeing his work ethic and know he is trying to take his game to the next level.

DEE MILLINER: Dee was flying around camp, at least mini camp. It’s nice to see him active for the entire off-season. A healthy Dee Milliner has the chance to be an elite cornerback this fall.

STEPHEN HILL: Yes, Stephen Hill. Per all documented accounts, Stephen looked like he is finally getting it. Less dropped passes will make us very happy Jets’ fans. Will it continue during training camp? Who knows. But the improvement during mini camp earns Stephen wings in this edition.
