Notes: New York Jets’ Mandatory Minicamp Day One

Today was the start of mandatory camp for our New York Jets. Here are some thoughts on the day, courtesy of the many writers and reporters in attendance at the morning practice.

  • Stephen Hill was the top receiver on the day.  Say what?  Stephen who?  That’s right.  Apparently, there were a lot of drops to go around with the rest of the group, but Stephen Hill looked good.  It goes without saying that is a great sign for him.  Maybe is finally going to get it.
  • Dee Milliner is healthy.  That was great news.  Dee told reporters that he was 100%, no problems with the hamstring at all.
  • Geno Smith was consistent.  People in attendance believed they were looking at a different Geno Smith.  He was confident, and he was leading the offense.  What a difference a year makes.
  • Chris Johnson performed well.  CJ2K was working out with the running backs, running the football and catching passes out of the backfield as well.  He won’t do team drills during minicamp, as the team still wants to take it slowly.

All good news! I hope it continues!! Hill needs a break out year, if he does things will look much better at WR! I know its only day 1, but I was hoping to see something about the OL and a CB besides Milliner. Good news for the Defense that Milliner is 100%, hopefully he can stay that way!!

Exactly, all seems good so far.
