Earlier, Jets Sign Two Draftpicks, Trevor Reilly and Dakota Dozier

Now that the draft has been completed, the work to sign the draft class begins. Two out of twelve have been signed as of earlier today. The first signing was of seventh rounder Trevor Reilly.

Reilly did a lot of damage to opponents during his years at Utah, recording 20 sacks and 37 TFLs for his career in college. He comes to the Jets at the ripe old age of 26, thanks to spending two years on a mission in Sweden.

Sounds like the type of character guy that will have the chance to do just fine.

Later on, the Jets signed one of their fourth round picks, OL Dakota Dozier. What he brings to the team is flexibility. Dozier spendt the betterment of his career as a tackle for Furman, but is built to nearly be the prototypical NFL guard at 6’4″ 313. Word is that the Jets feel comfortable giving him a shot at either, or both positions, which is just the type of flexibilty that Rex Ryan loves.

It will be exciting times when these guys take the field.

Dozier might have been the steal of the middle rounds for the Jets. His skill set and flexibility will provide a good competition along the line. Reilly maybe makes the practice squad, or contributes on special teams. The Jets took a shot late with him, his knee seems to be a concern after two surgeries through his collegiate career. Durability is the biggest question mark I think.
